Do my Rs look big in this?

Matt had the ink and paintbrushes out this morning for a spot of custom lettering. Whether any of it will make it to print is yet to be seen but I thought I’d share a teeny snippet.

Always nice to get away from the Mac and draw something when you can.

Telly addict

The V&A have a postmodern exhibition on at the moment. Right up my street. Neville Brody and Terry Jones are talking this Friday about their massive contribution to the magazine culture that flourished in the eighties (sold out I’m afraid). But it got me thinking about the last time Neville Brody was involved with the V&A. It was back in 1988 when there was a retrospective of his work. Thinking big with type

Check out this fabulous post over on Typetoken showing a great bit of large-scale typesetting. The ‘Comedy Carpet’ was envisaged by artist Gordon Young in response to a commission from Blackpool Council. The typography was by Why Not Associates.
