Presses fall silent at Woods of Perth

Sadly, another printer goes into administration.

Woods of Perth, who have been printing for over 170 years, are finally winding down.

CMYK have worked with Woods for some time now. They printed The Keeper magazine and most recently a new job of ours – The Valley (for the College Valley in Northumberland). We had our ups and downs with them, but nobody likes to see a company go out of business. Good luck to the 62 people that worked there.

There are now only two B1 printers left in Scotland – MLG and J Thomson

At the printers…

Our new inflight magazine, aurora, for Highland Airways, went to press on Friday. Of course I couldn’t miss a trip to our printers, Scotprint, who are based in Haddington.

All went really well, with 16 to view printed both sides – so 32 pages passed in one fell swoop! I remember the days when I used to pass every section of Caledonia magazine, but it was only 8 pages to view, single sided. You can imagine how long that took.

Anyway, we are due to get early copies on Wednesday, so will update this post then.
